Our meeting set for tomorrow will be postponed to a later date. Our candidate selection committee requested extra time to meet the other nominee and our schedule was too tight to allow both a meeting and an event tomorrow. So, we will postpone.
The candidate will be selected by you and our selection committee so if you are a founding member or a paid member of the People’s Party of Canada we need your help.
Between now and the week of May 6th (which is less than 2 weeks away) in order to secure their nomination both nominees will need to collect 10 signatures from the local People’s Party membership and submit them to the candidate selection committee. These signatures can be from founding members or new members of the PPC. To facilitate the signature selection the new nominee will have access to this email list and will be sending an email to introduce himself in the near future.
Both nominees will have a post on the https://ppcguelph.ca website. It will be in their chosen format (i.e. video or text, or both).
We will be having a town hall, but it might be online (or a live event streamed online as well). We would like some questions for the nominees to answer from local members. Some examples of questions could be: What is your number one election issue? What do you want the candidate to address in Ottawa? What is the most important thing federally in 2019, according to you personally?
You can let us know your questions by responding to this email.
We are very excited to start this process and want to have as much membership involvement as possible.
I will send an update with timelines shortly, including the timeline for introducing the successful candidate during the week of May 6th.
